Part 3

Here goes part 3. Read CAREFULLY!!!!
Religious texts contradict scientific observation - There are actually many examples of religious texts making claims which are contradicted by scientific findings. Obviously, one common example is evolution. However, we don't even need to deal with evolution specifically. Let us simply consider the age of the Earth and the universe. Scientists can estimate the age of the Earth and the universe using a whole range of techniques. All of these techniques agree that both have ages in the billions of years. The bible, however, suggests that creation occurred only a few thousand years ago. If we consider that science has been right about many things (consider that science has brought us electricity, cars, computers, the internet, etc.), what basis do we have for saying that science is wrong about the age of the Earth? Therefore, we must conclude that our religious texts are wrong and this calls into question the existence of God. How so? Well, if God was real and the religious texts were truly the word of God, it is hard to imagine they would be wrong about the age of the Earth.
